On Wednesday 21 November Flinders Ranges Water Cruises was awarded the SA Great award for tourism in the Flinders & Outback region.

We have succeed in creating a very pure form of tourism in an area where you would least expect it & since our beginning we have travelled over 15000km & conducted over 850 cruises. We have aimed to be “not the biggest just the best” & in the process we have become one of the States great experiences.

Unfortunately we were not available to attend the function held in Peterborough as we had cruises that night & next morning but were grateful that Graham Bull was able to accept it on our behalf. Graham has not been our most frequent guest but a great ambassador for Port Augusta.

More recently we have won the 'Business Port Augusta' 2007 award for tourism & were finalists in the overall 'Most Outstanding Business of the Year'

It hasn’t been easy as when we started most people thought it was a joke & would not last long. The funny thing now though that this is just the beginning. Many people have supported us but we would like to particularly thank our family, Wadlata, Big 4 Caravan Park, Shoreline Caravan Park, Pauline Hedger, SATC, Tourism Port Augusta & the Quorn Adventure Group. Without this fantastic support we would not have succeeded to level we have today.

We are fiercely Port Augusta & South Australia proud & are proud to say we are a totally South Australian product. With the vessel designed & built specifically for us in South Australia. Plus were possible we use South Australian products including Flinders Ranges wines, Coopers Beers, Aqua Pura Bickford Spring Water & Grubs Gladstone soft drinks. Not only this all our maintenance & up keep is done in Port Augusta with local businesses. Community involvement is also important to us, especially our involvement with Miriam Special Needs School to which we gladly provide cruises each school holidays. We also donate most proceeds from Photo, CD & DVD sales to Miriam.
